Nakuru National Park: Located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, this park has a great concentration of wildlife including waterbuck, gazelle, buffalo, rhino, the rare Rothschild giraffe, and if lucky, you may see lions and Leopard. The lake and National Park, which is also a bird sanctuary is famous also for its great concentration of birds, in particular the colourful flamingo and the Pelican, which seasonally feed off the abundant algae in the shallow waters of this soda lake. The park was gazetted the first Rhino Sanctuary in the country and boasts of both the White and black Rhino. The park is also home to a large / great Euphorbia forest, which compliments the beauty of the acacia forest on the shores of the Lake - a ‘mini-paradise’ as described by many who have toured here!

BRIEF HOTELS’ DESCRIPTIONS
Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is nestled along the Lion Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake Nakuru. Its location affords panoramic vistas of the Lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park. A short two hour drive from Nairobi, the Lodge is a favourite with residents and visitors to Kenya, among the Lake Nakuru lodges.
The Lodge is cleverly laid out such that most rooms and sitting areas afford stunning views of the Lake and the Park. The Lodge incorporates natural landscaping with tall acacia trees, winding walkways and greens dotted with bird feeds. Spread over acres, the Lodge is a natural haven for bird life and attracts over 50 species of birds amongst the 400 species that inhabit the Park.
Naivasha Sopa: Naivasha is a Maasai name given to the area where the resort is located, denoting the characteristics of the lake including size and its tendency to roughness when windy.
The history of the area has always been important as it formed the main route of the slave trade from Uganda and the highlands of Kenya, including in 1884, the Scottish explorer Joseph Thompson’s epic journey through Maasai land – where he writes in his journals of his time in Naivasha.
